Nepse Index declines by 10.90 points with turnover above Rs 54.23 crore

The benchmark capital market index, Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), has declined by 10.90 points or 0.71% to close at 1526.77 points. index Today, NEPSE Index opened at 1537.91 points and the local bourse was seen declining throughout the day. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 54.23 crore where more than 10.16 lakh units shares were traded through 5,586 transactions. Butwal Power Company Limited (BPCL) topped the list of companies in terms of turnover (Rs 3.03crore) while Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank Limited (NCCB) was traded the most (81,826 units) today. Sensitive and float index slightly went down by 2.29 points and 0.78 points respectively. Except Manufacturing & Production sector and hotels sector, the indices of eight trading group landed in red at the end of the day with Insurance sector losing the most (i.e. 104.59 points) followed by microfinance sector (i.e. 20.06 points). Himalayan Power Partner Limited (HPPL) the top gainer followed by Oriental Hotels Limited (OHL) while Kisan United Insurance Company Nepal Limited (UIC) was among the top loser followed by Barun Hydropower Company Limited (BARUN).
