NEPSE inches up by 7.97 points; rests at 1431.80 points with turnover above 36 Crore

The benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has scaled up today by 7.97 points or 0.56% to close at 1431.80 points. index The only local borse of the country had opened at 1,423.91 points and started scaling up till it touched the 1435 mark after which the market started showing some volatility with pressures from buyers and sellers. After some ups and downs, the index ultimately ended in green gaining 7.97 points. The total turnover of the day was however a meager Rs 36.16 crore where more than 7.51 lakh unit shares exchanged hands through 3,985 transactions. Nepal Life Insurance Co Limited (NLIC) stood ahead in terms of total turnover for the day with its total transactions exceeding over 5.27 crore. Over 44 thousand unit promoter shares of Kanchan Development Bank (KADBLP) were traded today making it the most traded scripts. Scripts of Multipurpose Finance Company Limited (MPFL) made the highest profit today as their value increased by 9.97 % to Rs. 342 hitting positive circuit. On the other hand, promoter shares of First Micro Finance Development Bank Limited (FMDBLP) didn’t perform well with their value tumbling by 5.64% to Rs. 401. Both the Sensitive and float index moved up today by 1.73 points and 0.57 points respectively. The indices of all the trading groups except the Finance and others sub-indices showed an upward movement and landed in green today. Insurance sector that gained 165.87 points stood as the top gainers which was followed by Microfinance. On the other hand, finance and others were 2 meager losers whose value decreased minimally by 1.14 points and 0.57 points respectively. sector turnover traded transaction losers gainers
