NEPSE hits 38 month low today after closing at 1109.72 points; Chautari Laghubitta continues its gaining streak

It’s a rough start to the week as the market hits a low of over 38 months. The benchmark index today lost 0.28% or 3.15 points and closed at 1109.72 points. The index was at 1110 points on 17th December, 2015, after which NEPSE has never fallen this low. Today’s turnover was of Rs.21.07 Crore which was achieved from trade of 828,853 units of shares traded through 5,151 transactions trading scrips of 173 listed companies in the process.

Today, trade was dominated by Prabhu Bank (PRVU). The number of shares traded today was 83,039 units while the turnover was at Rs.1.90 Crore. The LTP of the commercial bank stands at Rs.227 per share.

Chautari Laghubitta (CHLBS) continues its gaining streak as it manages to hit the positive circuit today as well. The microfinance company gained 9.87% or 37 points and closed at Rs.412 per share. Today’s top loser was Kanchan Development Bank (KADBL) as it lost 6.83% or 11 points and closed at Rs.150 per share.

Sensitive Index lost 0.76 points and closed at 236.16 points while Float Index lost 0.12 points and closed at 80.74 points.

Hotels, Development Banks and Manufacturing & Processing were the only gaining sub-indices as they gained 0.33%, 0.26% and 0.32%. Rest of the sub-indices ended in the red zone after losing points. Trading sub-index lost the most at 1.65%.
