NEPSE fall below 1200 points on New Year’s Eve; Registers double digit fall of 17.26 points

Nepal Stock Exchange has closed losing 17.26 points for the day. The market which had started at 1,204.54 points lost 1.43% to close at 1,187.28 points. During the day, the market observed trade of 11,79,043 units shares generating turnover of Rs 40.03 crore. Shares of 167 listed companies were exchanged through 5,258 transactions.

National Life Insurance Company Limited (NLICL) was the top stock based on the turnover as shares worth Rs 38.87 crore were exchanged during the day. Similarly, Nepal Bank Limited (NBL) was the top stock by shares traded as 98,987 units were traded during the day.

Jebils Finance Limited (JEFL) was the top gainer for the day gaining 5 points to close its LTP at Rs 107. However, Mahila Sahayatra Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha Limited (MSMBS) was the top loser for the day losing 48 points to close its LTP at Rs 534.

Both the sensitive and float index decreased by 3.8 points and 1.06 points respectively.

Out of the sub-indices, only Hydropower, Finance and Manufacturing & Production were on the gaining side. Manufacturing & Production gained 7.13 points while Non-Life Insurance sector lost 160.23 points to close the day.
