NEPSE enters correction phase; loses 22.33 points to close at 1588.29; Turnover of Rs 2.54 arba highest since September 2016

The benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) lost 22.33 points (1.39%) to close at 1,588.29 points today. Index closed in red today after gaining for 7 consecutive days. NEPSE Index opened at 1610.65 points and went up to 1643.89 points today during the first trading hour of the day, and after that it was seen fluctuating. index 1,046,867 unit share of Nepal Bangladesh Bank Promoter Shares (NBBPO) and 281,759 units shares of Nepal Bangladesh Bank Limited (NBB) were traded the most today. Sindhu Bikas Bank Limited (SINDU) and Kankai Bikas Bank Limited (KNBL) hit positive circuit break today. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 2.54 arba, where more than 50.33 lakh units shares were traded through 14,956 transactions. Manual turnover of Rs 5.04 crore was also seen today. This was the highest turnover since September 16, 2016. Sensitive and float index went down by 4.62 and 1.81 points respectively. Except trading sector, all the sectors in NEPSE landed on red.
