NEPSE declines 11.05 points; settles at 1,413.90 points with a decent turnover of Rs 59.06 Crore

The benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has depreciated today by 11.05 points or 0.78% to close at 1,413.90 points. Today, the only local bourse of the country opened at 1,424.85 points and was seen fluctuating throughout the day. Within the first hour of trading the index picked up by around 20 points, which can be attributed to the appointment of new Prime Minister of the country. However, since all other fundamentals like the interest rates and the organizations’ financials remained the same, the market soon went down again. Minor fluctuations were seen afterwards and the index ultimately ended in the red zone. 1 The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 59.06 crore where more than 14.29 lakh unit shares were traded through 7,182 transactions. Shares of Nepal Investment Bank Limited (NIB) stood ahead in terms of total turnover as more than Rs 2.81 crore worth of its shares were traded today. Similarly, over 86.7 thousands unit shares of Century Commercial Bank Ltd. (CCBL) exchanged their ownership today making it the highest traded shares. Scrips of Bottlers Nepal (Terai) Limited (BNT) made the highest profit today as their value increased by 4.02% to Rs 7424. On the other hand shares of Progressive Finance Limited (PROFL) lost the most today with their value tumbling by 7.5% to Rs 196. Both the Sensitive and float index went down today by 2.14 points and 0.81 points respectively. Apart from the index of Manufacturing and processing sector, all other groups lost points today and landed in red. Manufacturing and processing sector that gained 9.69 points stood as the top gainer. Insurance sector however lost 107.48 points making it the most unprofitable sector for the day. 2 3 4 5 6
