NEPSE continuous downward trend; loses 17.55 points closing at 1,270.23

NEPSE index has declined by 17.55 points or 1.36% today. The market had opened at 1,287.78, and kept fluctuating throughout the day. During the first hour the index dived down to 1,267.35 and started climbing till 1,291.80 and then there were sight fluctuations in market ultimately closing in the red zone.

The high fluctuations in market index these days has led to increasing unrest among the investors. Total turnover worth Rs 34.90 crore was witnessed during the trading hours as more than 9.83 lakh unit shares were traded in the whole day. The turnover value today is significantly lower the yesterday and the day before yesterday.

Butwal Power Company (BPCL) stood ahead in terms of turnover as more than 1.3 crore worth shares were traded. Similarly, Arun Valley Hydropower Development Co. Ltd. (AHPC) was the top in case of number of shares traded as 34 thousand unit shares were exchanged.

Likewise, the top gainer for the day is Swadesi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. (SDESI) whose price increased by 7.99% closing at Rs. 865. Hamro Bikas Bank (HAMRO) was the top loser of the day losing 7.5% on its price.

The sub-indices for all sectors ended in red zone today. Insurance sector lost the most today losing 94.63 points.
