NEPSE continues its bear run; high volatility in the market ends at 1,220.44 points

The index at Nepal Stock Exchange has shown a lot of fluctuation for the last trading day of the week. But at the end of the day, market closed at 1,220.44 points losing 10.63 points. The stock market had started at 1,231.07 points and had continuously decreased since the start of the day reaching at 1,207.74 points at the lowest point. After that the market had increased to reach 1,238.21 points. 1 More than Rs 44.16 crore was exchanged through 6,166 transactions. The total number of traded shares exceeded 10 lakh units of 158 companies. Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited (NLIC) stood ahead in terms of turnover as more than Rs 4.74 crore worth of its shares was traded. Similarly, the shares of Nepal Bank Limited (NBL) were traded the most as 59,296 units of its shares were traded during the day. 2 3 The shareholders of Nagbeli Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha (NBBL) earned the most as the share gained 158 points to close at Rs 2,099. Likewise, the shareholders of Progressive Finance Limited (PROFL) lost the most today, as its value decreased by 8 points setting its LTP at Rs 142. 4 5 Both the sensitive and float index dropped by 1.99 points and 0.63 points respectively. All the sub-indices lost points and ended in red zone. Insurance sector lost 120.7 points which was followed by Hotels losing 59.45 points to end the day. 6
