NEPSE closes at 2 months high of 917.5 level; surges 13.82 points

The benchmark index of Nepal Stock Exchange has moved up by double digit of 13.82 points or 1.53 percent to close at 917.50 level.
The local bourse opened at 903.65 level this afternoon and climbed up hill throughout the day surging 13.82 points till closing.
News of the four major political forces — Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, Unified CPN-Maoist and United Democratic Madhesi Front —evolving consensus and most probably finding common ground on disputed issues of the constitution by Monday has attributed in today’s up thrust in the market index.
The total turnover has also surged by more than Rs 89 million than previous day’s closing of Rs 177.09 million. Altogether 552,852 unit shares of 127 companies were traded through 2,374 transactions worth total of Rs 266.1 million.

Among the sub-indices, Banking gained double digit of 13.47 points or 1.68 percent amid the rise in share price of Everest Bank by Rs 42. The share price of Prabhu Bank (PRVU), who’s trading started from today, surged by Rs 20.
Development and HydroPower increased by 1.45 points and 23.36 points or 1.66 percent and 1.05 percent respectively.
Rise in share price of Rastriya Beema Sansthan by Rs 290 and Nepal Life Insurance by Rs 173 led the Insurance sector up swell by triple digit of 122.83 points or 3.24 percent. Finance gained meager 3.72 points.
On the contrary, Hotels and Others plunged by meager 0.44 point and 1.18 point respectively.
Companies like Malika Bikas, Mithila Laghubitta, Sahara BIkas Bank, Naya Nepal Laghubitta and Prabhu Bank were among the top gainers of the day.
Whereas Nepal Community Development, NLG Insurance, HAMA Merchant and Union Finance Co. Ltd were among the top losers of the day.
