NEPSE Breached 2000 Levels To Close At 1996.26 Index, Fell 38% From All-Time High In Mere 9 Months

The NEPSE index closed at 1,996.26 today after losing 36.07 points from last trading day's closing. This is a loss of 1.78%. The index had lost 15.82 points yesterday.
The index opened at 2,032.53, and the intraday highest is 2,034.81. It then made intraday low at 1,990.32 and ultimately closed at 1,996.26. The index has dropped about 38% from its all-time high of 3227.11 (intraday trading) set nine months ago, on August 19, 2021. The market capitalisation stood at Rs. 44.68 Kharba on that day. In the last nine months, the investors have lost around Rs. 16.24 Kharba. The current market capitalisation stands at Rs. 28.44 Kharba.
232 scrips traded hands via 31,806 transactions. Furthermore, a total of 4,147,255 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 1.185 Arba in the turnover amount. This higher than yesterday's turnover of Rs. 99.8 Crores.
SHIVAM CEMENTS LTD (SHIVM) had the highest turnover of Rs. 4.67 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 698. The shares of NMB 50 (NMB50) traded the most.
Adhikhola Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (AKBSL) gained the highest 8.18%.
On the other side of things, Himalayan Power Partner Ltd. (HPPL) lost highest 9.99% and technnically hit negative circuit for the day.
All sector indices closed red, “Others" lost the highest 3.44% while "Banking" lost the least 0.89%.
