NEPSE almost offsets losses of past five days with today’s gain; top gainer and loser continue their respective trend

After losing 2.33% in the last five days, today’s gain in the market has almost offset the loss of that period. The benchmark index gained a whopping 2.04% or 22.44 points to close at 1124.96 points. Today’s turnover was at Rs.21.45 Crore which was achieved from trade of 714,876 units of shares traded through 4,568 transactions trading scrips of 167 listed companies in the process.

Today’s trade was dominated by Upper Tamakoshi (UPPER) after 57,539 units of shares were traded posting a turnover of Rs.1.27 Crore. The LTP of the hydropower company stands at Rs.232 per share.

The top gainers and losers for today were the same as yesterday. Chautari Laghubitta (CHLBS) hit the positive circuit as it gained 9.93% or 45 points and closed at Rs.498 per share. World Merchant Banking and Finance (WMBF) hit the negative circuit as it lost 10% or 8 points to close at Rs.72 per share.

Sensitive Index gained 4.55 points and closed at 238.91 points while Float Index gained 1.62 points and closed at 81.81 points.

All the sub-indices gained today closing in the green zone. Microfinance gained the most at 2.99%.
