Nepali youths in South Korea donate for COVID-19 cause

The Nepali youths who are in South Korea in course of foreign employment have chipped in some amount to help the government fight against COVID-19.

They collected from Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000 per person and managed to raise Rs 151 thousand in total for the COVID-19 Prevention and Control Fund set up by Galyang Municipality in Syangja district.

Altogether 38 Nepali youths originally from Kapilvastu, Jhapa, Sankhuwasabha, Paanchthar and Solukhumbu districts collected the money and sent to Galyang Municipality’s Ward No 11 Chairperson Dilli Prasad Bhandari (Gopal).

Bhandari handed over the monetary support to the Galyang Municipality Mayor Bhuparaj Adhikari here today. Adhikari extended his gratitude towards the Nepali youths for their support at this juncture of time when the COVID-19 crisis has been hitting hard the whole world, including Nepal.

Narayan Aryal, one of the Nepali migrant workers in South Korea to provide monetary support for COVID-19 cause, said that they wanted to help their bit to their motherland at the time of health crisis like this.

So far, over 400 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the country with two deaths caused by the infection. To control and prevent the pandemic, the federal government here has been implementing the nationwide lockdown since March 24.
