Nepal SBI Bank opens In-Touch Outlet at Durbarmarg

Nepal SBI Bank Limited has opened an In-Touch outlet at Durbarmarg, Kathmandu. Dr. Chiranjibi Nepal, Governor, Nepal Rastra Bank, Mrs. Arundhati Bhattacharya, Chairman, State Bank of India and Indian Ambassador to Nepal, His Excellency Mr. Manjeev Singh Puri, jointly inaugurated the Outlet amid a ceremony held today at Durbarmarg, Kathmandu.
The Bank has opened the Outlet in its pursuit of bringing in modern and sophisticated digital based delivery channels to the Nepalese customers. It is a complete Digital Touch Point for the customers for basic banking. The in-Touch Outlet offers Instant Savings Bank account opening in self-service mode, Personalized Debit Card issuance, ATM PIN Issuance, ATM Re-PIN Facility, Internet Banking (INB) activation/operations, Cash deposit and withdrawal through Kiosks (Account Opening, Debit card printing, internet banking)/ ATMs/CRMs (Cash Deposit Machine and recycler) /SSK (Self Service Kiosk for cheque deposit. The Outlet also has a robot to guide the customers for different banking transactions, which is locally developed by the Bank.
Issuing a press statement published today, it stated that Governor Dr. Nepal appreciated Nepal SBI Bank and State Bank of India (SBI) for the success they had in bringing in new technological innovation in Nepal. Further, Governor Dr. Nepal congratulated Nepal SBI for the success in becoming a pioneer in bringing in in-touch banking concept in Nepal.
Mrs. Arundhati Bhattacharya, Chairman, State Bank of India said that the in-touch concept of State Bank of India is a move towards digitization of Banking services and bringing banking to the hands of customers, which has massively attracted youngsters in the bank's fold. She further shared that Nepal is the first country to have In-touch technology amongst SBI's foreign operations across the globe. On the occasion, she expressed her overwhelming pleasure to have Nepal SBI Bank as the No. 1 subsidiary of SBI across the globe in terms of various efficiency ratios and encouraged the entire team NSBL to strive for achieving more excellence.
Mr. Krishna Prasad Acharya, Chairman of the bank said that the in-touch outlet is an outcome of the change that has taken place in the modern banking world and it’s a matter of pride for Nepal SBI to offer such a sophisticated technology to our customers for the first time in Nepal and emphasized the need to gradually expand the in-touch utilities to other potential locations too.
Mr. Siddhartha Sengupta, DMD(IBG), SBI, said that the In touch utility launched by the Bank is one of the pillars of banking modernization, which will keep the bank connected to the society at all times. Appreciating the robust and sound HR strength of the Bank, he emphasized need to remain always no. 1 in terms of risk and compliance in the banking industry.
Nepal SBI Bank is providing banking services from its 69 Offices including 62 Branches, 7 Extension Counters, along with 3 Regional Offices and a Corporate Office and with installation of 93 ATMs/CDMs/CRMs/POS/Kiosk across the country.
