Nepal Rastra Bank publicizes the existing laws governing domestic & foreign currencies

The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has published a notice to inform the concerned parties regarding exiting regulations on Nepalese and Foreign currencies.
The central bank has highlighted the following regulation from the book:
- Nepalese or foreign citizens are not allowed to carry more than Rs 5000 leaving from or coming to Nepal.
- Nepalese or foreign citizen are not allowed to carry more than 5000 American dollar.In case of special situation the bank shall make record of it in the passport.
- Nepalese or foreign citizen should declare the amount more than 5000 American Dollar and the customs officials must certify that amount.
- If problems arise from implementation of aforementioned program then the concerned party should file application with the NRB seeking a solution.
