Nepal Rastra Bank bans buying, selling & exchange of INR 500 & INR 1000 notes
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has published a notice addressing Bank and Financial Institutions (BFIs), money changers and other related institutions to discontinue buying, selling and exchange of Indian Currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000.
The notice will be effective from today (Kartik, 24, 2073).
Indian Government and Reserve Bank of India has ceased to use Indian notes of Rs 500 and Rx 1000 from November 9, 2016.
