Nepal Oil Corporation Cuts Fuel Prices, Petrol Down by Rs 20 per Litre
The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced a significant reduction in the prices of petroleum products, including petrol, diesel, kerosene, aviation fuel, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), providing much-needed relief to consumers amid fluctuating global energy prices.
The decision was approved by the corporation’s board during a meeting held on Tuesday as part of its regular fuel pricing review process.
According to NOC, petrol prices have been reduced by Rs 20 per litre, while the prices of diesel and kerosene have been lowered by Rs 30 per litre each. In addition, the price of domestic aviation fuel has been cut by Rs 40 per litre.
For international carriers operating through Kathmandu, the price of international aviation fuel has been reduced by USD 265 per kilolitre, reflecting adjustments in global fuel pricing trends.
Meanwhile, consumers using cooking gas will also benefit as the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has been reduced by Rs 100 per cylinder.
Following the latest revision, the new retail price of petrol now stands at Rs 197 per litre, while diesel and kerosene are priced at Rs 195 per litre in major distribution centers including Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal.
Similarly, the price of a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder has been fixed at Rs 2,060 under the revised pricing structure.
NOC stated that the price adjustments were made under its automatic pricing mechanism, which regularly revises domestic fuel prices based on fluctuations in international oil markets and updated import rates provided by Indian Oil Corporation, Nepal’s primary fuel supplier.
The corporation noted that the latest downward revision reflects easing import costs and changing global petroleum market conditions, allowing it to pass on some benefits directly to consumers.
