National Life Insurance's Q2 report shows net profit of Rs 23.58 crore; Annualized EPS at Rs 15.30

National Life Insurance Company Limited (NLICL) has earned a net profit of Rs 23.58 crore till the second quarter of FY 2076/77. The net profit figure is without the profit generated from the actuarial valuation of assets and liabilities.

As per the unaudited report for the second quarter published today, the net earnings from premium increased to Rs 3.88 arba till Q2 from Rs 2.98 arba in the corresponding quarter of last FY 2075/76. The number of policyholders increased to 8.04 lakhs from 7 lakhs in the corresponding quarter last year.

The company has made a claim payment (net) of Rs 1.25 arba till Q2, the same figure stood at Rs 1.18 arba in the corresponding quarter of FY 2075/76.

NLICL has a paid-up capital of Rs 3.08 arba with a reserve of Rs 69.06 crore. The capital amount includes the recently issued 60% (10:6) right shares, 13.50% bonus shares approved by 30th AGM and 2.50% bonus shares approved by 31st AGM.

Likewise, the company’s life insurance fund has increased to Rs 30.15 arba from Rs 23.71 arba in the corresponding quarter.

Its annualized EPS stands at Rs 15.30, net worth per share at Rs 122.04 and qtr end P/E ratio at 36.46 times.
