Ministry of Agriculture Addresses Budget Concerns Amid Office Mergers
The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development has asserted that the budget allocation for the offices slated for merger and cancellation in the 2080/81 budget is not entirely depleted. Furthermore, the Ministry has taken note of the difficulties faced by some offices due to budget constraints.
In some cases, the budget for these offices has a consolidated allocation, and there is no immediate budget shortage. In light of the cancellation and restructuring of certain entities under the Ministry, as outlined in points No. 16 and 47 of the budget statement, all the budgets for these entities were consolidated under the Ministry. This measure was taken because the budget for some offices had been registered as zero in the inter-ministerial budget information system for the current financial year.
The zero-budget entry had an adverse impact on the services provided by these offices. Consequently, the Ministry of Finance, with the initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture, has initiated the process of re-budgeting for these offices, and the budget entry is currently in progress.
In addition, the Ministry is conducting a comprehensive study to propose an appropriate organizational structure based on its analysis of the restructuring of agriculture offices. The Ministry is actively mobilizing the necessary budget and resources to address the challenge posed by diseases, particularly infectious ones, which have become a significant concern.
