During a recent event organized by the Independent Power Producers' Association-Nepal (IPPAN), Minister for Women, Children, and Senior Citizens, Bhagawati Chaudhary, underscored the significance of encouraging women investors in the energy sector. Minister Chaudhary highlighted the gradual increase in women's participation across various sectors, emphasizing the need for greater representation beyond the political realm, where a mandated 33% participation is ensured.

Addressing concerns raised by investors regarding procedural complexities involving multiple ministries, Minister Chaudhary acknowledged the intricate nature of hydropower projects, which intersect with forest conservation, environmental preservation, biodiversity, and local livelihoods. She emphasized the potential for national prosperity through power sales, noting the upcoming investment summit as a platform aimed at attracting vital investments to the country.

Against the backdrop of the Himalayan Hydro Expo 2024, Minister Chaudhary's remarks coincided with efforts to promote increased power consumption. The expo, organized by IPPAN, serves as a platform to stimulate dialogue and collaboration within the energy sector. Additionally, the inauguration of an E-vehicle rally by Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation, Shakti Bahadur Basnet, underscores the government's commitment to advancing sustainable energy practices.

IPPAN President Ganesh Karki highlighted the theme of the E-vehicle rally, "Let us consume our electricity ourselves," aligning with the government's ambitious goal of ensuring consumption of 13,000 megawatts of electricity by 2035.
