Meager profit growth of Chilime Hydropower by 3.29%; Jalvidhyut Lagani nearly doubles its profit but EPS stands low at Rs 4.91

Chilime Hydropower Company Limited (CHCL) has reported increase its net profit by 3.29 percent in the fourth quarter of the last fiscal year 2073/74. Publishing the unaudited quarterly report for the fourth quarter today, the hydropower company's net profit after income tax has increased to Rs 96.63 crore in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2073/74 from Rs 93.55 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year 2072/73. CHCL made regular income of Rs 1.19 arba by the end of the fourth quarter rising from Rs 1.16 arba in the corresponding quarter — rise by 2.9 percent. Its reserve fund amounts to Rs 4.93 arba in Q4 from Rs 4.59 arba in the corresponding quarter. CHCL's earnings per share (EPS) stands at Rs 28.06, its net worth per share is at Rs 243.14 and P/E ratio stands at 28.47 times. Likewise, Jalvidhyut Lagani Tatha Bikas Company Limited(HIDCL) has posted a net profit rise of 93.27 percent in the fourth quarter of the last fiscal year 2073/74. As per unaudited financial report published today, its net profit after income tax has increased to Rs 49.09 crore in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2073/74 from Rs 25.40 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year 2072/73. HIDCL made operating income of Rs 80.15 crore by the end of the fourth quarter rising from Rs 51.17 crore in the corresponding quarter — rise by 10.53%. Its reserve fund amounts has slightly depleted with 0.9 percent to Rs 98.99 crore in Q4 from Rs 99.90 crore in corresponding quarter. HIDCL’s earnings per share (EPS) stands at Rs 4.91, its net worth per share is at Rs 109.90 and P/E ratio stands at 40.12 times.
