Massive rise of stock market by 47.79 points to close at 1533.83 points; Huge turnover above 1.76 arba

On the first trading day of the week, the benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) went up by 47.79 points or 3.22% to close at 1533.83 points. Today, NEPSE Index opened at 1486.04 points and after that it was seen in upward trend. 563,020 unit shares of National Hydropower Company Limited (NHPC) and 350,000 unit shares of Prabhu Insurance Company Promoter Shares (PRINPO) were traded the most today. Top gainers list was dominated by microfinance companies. 20 companies hit positive circuit break today. Prabhu Insurance Company Promoter Shares and Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank Limited (NCCB) had the highest turnover of Rs 19.28 crore and Rs 9.73 crore respectively today. The number of transactions of PRINPO and NCCB reached 551 and 376. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 1.76 arba where more than 36.57 lakh units shares were traded through 10,558 transactions. Sensitive and float index went up by 10.22 and 3.82 points respectively. All sectors at Nepse landed in green today. Sub-indices of Insurance and Hydropower sector surged by 203.37 points and 159.4 points respectively.
