Market under grasp of short term traders; Index closes positively by 2.47 points with turnover of Rs 44.67 crore

The benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) has increased by 2.47 points or 0.16% to close at 1544.29 points today. NEPSE Index opened 1541.83 points and the local bourse was seen in an upward trend until the second trading hour as selling pressure was seen, after which it was seen in downward trend. index Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited (NLIC) topped the list of companies in terms of turnover (Rs 3.59 crore) and number of transactions (706), while NMB Bank Limited Promoter Shares (NMBPO) was at the top in terms of number of shares traded (65,330 units). The best performer for the day was Forward Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha Limited (FOWAD) whereas Pokhara Finance Limited (PFL) was the biggest loser today. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 44.67 crore in which more than 8.38 lakh units shares were traded 5,001 transactions. Sensitive and float index inched up by 0.88 and 0.26 points respectively.
