Market takes an upward trend, turnover stands at Rs 69.26 crore

The benchmark capital market index, Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE), has increased by 11.67 points or 0.77% to close at 1536.54 points.
Today, NEPSE Index opened at 1524.77 points and the local bourse was seen increasing throughout the day. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 69.26 crore in which more than 12.71 lakh units shares were traded through 5,889 transactions.
Shikhar Insurance Co. Ltd. (SICL) topped the list of companies in terms of turnover (Rs 6.40 crore) and Janata Bank Nepal Ltd. Promoter Share (JBNLPO) topped the list in terms of shares traded (60,009 units) today.
Sensitive and float index increased by 2.41 points and 0.96 points respectively.
Except Trading, the sub-indices of all other eight sectors were seen in green at the end of the day with Insurance sector gaining the most (i.e. 68.63 points) followed by Hotels sector (i.e. 28.09 points).
Chhyangdi Hydropower Ltd (CHL) was the top gainer followed by Synergy Power Development Ltd. (SPDL) while Himalayan Power Partner Ltd. (HPPL) was among the top loserz followed by Shree Investment Finance Co. Ltd. (SIFC).
