Market shows no sign of bull; NEPSE Index closed at 1231.07 less than last year’s lowest

The stock market has been seen in the downward trajectory since few days. Even on the fourth day of the week, the market lost 24.40 points to close at 1,231.07 points. The market had started at 1255.47 points. The market went down up to 1,224.90 points at the lowest which is less than the previous year’s lowest point of 1,252.50 points.
The turnover of Rs 38.32 crore was observed during the day where more than 9.45 lakh unit shares were traded through 5,734 transactions.
Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited (NLIC) stood ahead in terms of total turnover worth Rs Rs 3.46 crore where its LTP stood at Rs 1,618. Similarly, Nepal Bank Limited (NBL) was the most traded stock as 67,478 unit shares were traded.
Unilever Nepal limited (UNL) stood out as the top gainer of the day. The price of UNL’s shares increased by 1,510 points to Rs 26,211. Progressive Finance Limited (PROFL) remained the top loser. The price of the share went down by 15 points to Rs 150.
The sensitive and float index decreased by 5.49 points and 1.92 points respectively.
All eight sectors except manufacturing and production were seen in red today. Manufacturing and production sector gained 58.48 points. The sector to lose the most was Insurance i.e. 186.69 points.
