Market plunges by double digits today; Index settled at 1510.21 level with turnover exceeding Rs 66.92 crore

The benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has declined by 17.54 points or 1.15% to close at 1510.21 points today.
Today, Nepse Index opened at 1,527.75 points and kept shrinking from the very beginning. This finally led the market to dip by double digits when it settled for the day.
Despite of decline in overall index, the transaction volume and the transaction amount posted a significant improvement today. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 66.92 crores where more than 11.80 lakh unit shares were traded through 4,952 transactions.
Global IME Bank Limited (GBIME) topped the list of companies in terms of turnover (Rs 5.98 crore) and most traded shares (1.81 lakh units) today.
The best performer for the day was Kabeli Bikas Bank Limited (KEBL) whereas Rastriya Beema Company Limited Promoter Shares (RBCLPO) was among the biggest loser today.
Both the Sensitive and float index went down by 3.39 points and 1.24 points respectively.
Except the Manufacturing & Production sub- indices , the indices of all other trading groups bled and landed in the red zone for the day. Insurance sector losing 166.17 points became the biggest loser followed by the hotel groups with 47.83 points.
