Market opens for the week with double digit gain; final hour of trading pushes the market up

The market today that was not crossing 1125 points, gained an astounding 10.85 points in the closing hours and closed at 1131.70 points, gaining 0.97%. Today’s turnover was relatively low at Rs.22.37 Crore which was achieved from trade of 714,618 units of shares traded through 2,965 transactions trading scrips of 155 companies in the process.

Nepal Bank Limited (NBL) retakes the top spot on turnover and shares traded list after 94,568 units of shares were traded to post a turnover of Rs.2.77 Crore. The LTP of the bank stands at Rs.295 per share.

Mirmire Laghubitta (MMFDB) was today’s top gainer after it gained 5.67% or 51 points to close at Rs.951 per share. Laxmi Equity Fund (LEMF) lost the most after it lost 1 point or 7.44% to close at Rs.8.33 per unit.

Sensitive Index gained 2.68 points to close at 241.02 points and Float Index gained 0.91 points to close at 82.81 points.

Finance and Manufacturing & Products were the only sectors among losing sub-indices as they lost 0.04% and 0.46% respectively. Rest of the sub-indices ended in the green zone gaining points with Commercial Banks gaining the most at 1.37%.
