Market increases by 7.22 points; Turnover increases to Rs 54.20 crore

The benchmark capital market index, Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE), has increased by 7.22 points or 0.51% to close at 1423.83 points.
Today, NEPSE Index opened at 1416.61 points and the local bourse was seen increasing throughout the day. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 54.20 crore where more than 13.60 lakh units’ shares were traded through 5,223 transactions.
Promoter shares of Asian Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (ALICLP) topped the list of companies in terms of turnover (Rs 12.26 crore) and Prabhu Bank Limited (PRVU) topped the list in terms of shares traded (181,760 units) today.
Sensitive and float index increased by 1.59 points and 0.35 points respectively.
The sub-indices of three sectors such as Trading, Hotels and Development Bank ended in red whereas the sub-indices of Banking, HydroPower, Finance, Insurance, Manufacturing & Production, Others and Microfinance landed in green. Insurance sector gained the most (i.e. 18.27 points) while Development Bank lost the most (i.e. 7.41 points).
Multipurpose Finance Company Limited (MPFL) was the top gainer while Pomoter Shares of Asian Life Insurance Company (ALICLP) was among the top losers.
