Market increases by 2.44 point; Turnover increases to Rs 63.32 crore

The benchmark capital market index, Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE), has increased by 2.44 points or 0.17% to close at 1437.24 points.
Today, NEPSE Index opened at 1435.29 points and the local bourse was seen increasing throughout the day. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 63.32 crore where more than 12.62 lakh units’ shares were traded through 6,802 transactions.
Standard Chartered Bank Limited (SCB) topped the list of companies in terms of turnover (Rs 6.52 crore) and Prabhu Bank Limited (PRVU) topped the list in terms of shares traded (115,810 units) today.
Sensitive and float index decreased by 1.14 points and 0.08 points respectively.
The sub-indices of three sectors such as Banking, Trading and others sector ended in green whereas the sub-indices of Hotels, Development Bank, HydroPower, Finance, Insurance, Manufacturing & Production and Microfinance landed in red. Banking sector gained the most (i.e. 10.13 points) while Insurance sector lost the most (i.e. 61.34 points).
Mission Development Bank Ltd. (MIDBL) was the top gainer while Everest bank Limited Con. Pref. (EBLCP) was among the top losers.
