The benchmark capital market index, Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE), has decreased by 3.85 points or 0.27% to close at 1402.67 points.
Today, NEPSE Index opened at 1406.53 points and the local bourse was seen increasing for first half of the day and decreased throughout the day. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 50.61 crore where more than 16.76 lakh units’ shares were traded through 4,897 transactions.
Promoter shares of Global IME Bank ltd. (GBIMEP) topped the list of companies in terms of turnover (Rs 9.34 crore) and shares traded (523,020 units) today.
Sensitive and float index decreased by 0.76 points and 0.35 points respectively.
The sub-indices of five sectors such as Trading, Hotels, Finance, Manufacturing & Production and others ended in green whereas the sub-indices of Banking, Development Bank, HydroPower, Insurance and Microfinance landed in green. Manufacturing & Production sector gained the most (i.e. 30.97 points) while Insurance sector lost the most (i.e. 75.99 points).
Sana Kisan Bikas Bank Ltd. (SKBBL) was the top gainer while Pomoter Shares of Citizens Bank International Limited (CZBILP) was among the top losers.
