Market declines by 21.53 points; Turnover of the day stood above Rs 76.57 crore

The benchmark capital market index, Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE), has decreased by 21.53 points or 1.49% to close at 1,425.51 points.
Today, NEPSE Index opened at 1447.30 points and the local bourse was seen fluctuating throughout the day. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 76.57 crore where more than 13.68 lakh units’ shares were traded through 7,284 transactions.
Promoter shares of Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (NLICP) topped the list of companies in terms of turnover (Rs 10.99 crore) and shares traded (1 lakh units) today.
Sensitive and float index decreased by 4.72 points and 1.49 points respectively.
Except Manufacturing & Production sector, the sub-indices of nine sectors such as Banking, Trading, Hotels, Development Bank, HydroPower, Finance, Insurance, Others and Microfinance ended in red. Insurance sector lost the most (i.e. 136.91 points) followed by Development Bank (i.e. 24.69 points) and Hydropower sector (i.e. 24.29 points).
Mahuli Samudayik Laghubitta Sanstha Ltd. (MSLB) was the top gainer with almost 10% positive circuit while Sindhu Bikash Bank Ltd, (SINDU) was among the top losers.
