Market declines by 20.63 points; Index stands at 1416.61 points

The benchmark capital market index, Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE), has decreased by 20.63 points or 1.44% to close at 1416.61 points.
Today, NEPSE Index opened at 1437.24 points and the local bourse was seen decreasing throughout the day. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 44.55 crore where more than 8.9 lakh units’ shares were traded through 5,059 transactions.
Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) topped the list of companies in terms of turnover (Rs 4.30 crore) followed by Standard Chartered bank Limited (SCB) and Prabhu Bank Limited (PRVU) topped the list in terms of shares traded (121,421 units) followed by NTC today.
Sensitive and float index decreased by 4.39 points and 1.4 points respectively.
The sub-indices of all sectors such as Banking, Trading, Hotels, Development Bank, Hydropower, Finance, Insurance, Manufacturing & Production, Others and Microfinance ended in red. Insurance sector lost the most (i.e. 134.82 points) followed by Hotels sector (i.e. 29.33 points).
Multipurpose Finance Company Limited (MPFL) was the top gainer while Mahila Sahayatra Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. (MSMBS) was among the top losers.
