Market declines by 0.59 points; NEPSE Index stands at 1,520.15, NEPSE trading delayed by two hours

The benchmark capital market index, Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE), has decreased by 0.59 points or 0.04% to close at 1520.15 points.
The trading of NEPSE starts at 11:00 AM regularly but due to the occurrence of fire in NEPSE office, market opened at 12:55 PM. The trading time was extended for 2 hours and thus, market closed at 5 PM.
Today, NEPSE Index opened at 1520.74 points and the local bourse was seen fluctuating throughout the day. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 45.31 crore where more than 14.84 lakh units’ shares were traded through 4,402 transactions.
Nepal Grameen Bikas Bank Ltd. (NGBBL) topped the list of companies in terms of turnover (Rs 3.97 crore) and Global IME Bank Limited (GBIME) topped the list in terms of shares traded (1,05,790 units) today.
Sensitive and float index decreased by 0.09 points and 0.22 points respectively.
The sub-indices of five sectors such as Banking, Hotels, Development Bank, HydroPower and Insurance ended in red whereas the sub-indices of remaining five sectors such as Trading, Finance, Manufacturing & Production, Microfinance and others landed in green. Others sector gained the most (i.e. 13.59 points) whereas Hotels lost the most (i.e. 27.64 points).
Kalika Microcredit Development Bank Ltd. (KMCDB) was the top gainer while Himalayan General Insurance (HGI) was among the top losers.
