Market continues to escalate upward; Index up by 18.85 points with turnover exceeding Rs 1.39 arba

The benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) rose by 18.85 points or 1.29% to close at 1481.08 points.
Opening at 1462.23 levels this morning, the index surged to 1499.05 then the local bourse slipped and got a support at 1480. Again it rebounded and reached 1512.39 in the second trading hour. Increase in selling pressure ultimately pushed the market down to close the index at 1481.08.
The turnover today stood at Rs 1.32 arba. The turnover has been above Rs 1 arba in 3 consecutive days.
Overall, 25.57 lakhs unit shares were traded through 10,623 transactions today.
147,528 units shares of Nepal Bank Limited (NBL), 145,148 units shares of Nabil Balance Fund (NBF-1) and 143,487 units shares of Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank (NCCB) were traded the most today. Top gainers list was dominated by microfinance companies with 9 companies hitting positive circuit today.
Sanima Bank Limited (SANIMA) had the highest turnover of Rs 7.23 crore today through 571 transactions.
Sensitive and float index went up by 4.3 points and 1.55 points respectively.
Except Insurance, all sectors in NEPSE landed in green. Development Bank sub-group witnessed the highest growth of 40.38 points or 2.51% followed by Commercial bank sub-index, which went up by 25.55 points (1.87%).
