Market continues to decline; NEPSE Index stands at 1447.04; Turnover above Rs 54.02 crore

The benchmark capital market index, Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE), has decreased by 20.64 points or 1.41% to close at 1,447.04 points. index Today, NEPSE Index opened at 1467.89 points and the local bourse was seen decreasing throughout the day. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 54.02 crore where more than 10.38 lakh units’ shares were traded through 6,205 transactions. Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) topped the list of companies in terms of turnover (Rs 8.33 crore) and Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC)) topped the list in terms of shares traded (82,110 units) today. Sensitive and float index decreased by 4.16 points and 1.72 points respectively. Except Others sector, the sub-indices of nine sectors such as Banking, Trading, Hotels, Development Bank, HydroPower, Finance, Insurance, Manufacturing & Production and Microfinance ended in red. Insurance sector lost the most (i.e. 138.81 points) followed by Development Bank (i.e. 36.91 points) and Hydropower sector (i.e. 36.62 points). Mahuli Samudayik Laghubitta Sanstha Ltd. (MSLB) was the top gainer with almost 10% positive circuit while Progressive Finance Limited (PROFL) was among the top losers. sector turnover transaction traded losers gainers
