Market continues to decline; NEPSE Index stands at 1414.78; Turnover above Rs 81.69 crore

The benchmark capital market index, Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE), has decreased by 10.73 points or 0.75% to close at 1,414.78 points.
Today, NEPSE Index opened at 1424.80 points and the local bourse was seen decreasing throughout the day. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 81.69 crore where more than 18.61 lakh units’ shares were traded through 7,945 transactions.
Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) topped the list of companies in terms of turnover (Rs 22.80 crore) and Promoter Share of Jyoti Bikash Bank Ltd. (JBBLPO) topped the list in terms of shares traded (221,790 units) today.
Sensitive and float index decreased by 2.51 points and 0.84 points respectively.
Except Trading, Hotels and Others sector, the sub-indices of seven sectors such as Banking, Development Bank, HydroPower, Finance, Insurance, Manufacturing & Production and Microfinance ended in red. Banking sector lost the most (i.e. 16.26 points) followed by Development Bank (i.e. 12.47 points) and Hydropower sector (i.e. 6.54 points).
Mahuli Samudayik Laghubitta Sanstha Ltd. (MSLB) was the top gainer with 10% positive circuit while Naya Nepal Laghubitta Bikas Bank Ltd. (NNLB) was among the top losers.
