Market continues double-digit improvement; posts gain of 17.63 points with turnover above Rs 77.80 crore

The benchmark capital market index, Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), has closed with another double-digit gain today as it rose by 17.63 points (or 1.15%) to close at 1,547.94 points. market-chartToday, NEPSE Index opened at 1,530.31 points and the local bourse was seen in upward trend until the first half hour. Influx of sellers wishing to book short-term profit dragged the market down and the market remained in red for some time. However, market continued on its upward trend after the second trading hour, finally ending with a 17.63 points improvement. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 77.80 crore in which more than 16.54 lakh units shares were traded through 7,025 transactions. Promoter and Ordinary shares of Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited (NLICP and NLIC) topped the list of companies in terms of turnover (Rs 17.85 crore and Rs 3.80 crore). Manjushree Finance Limited (MFIL), which proposed 5% right shares today, gained more than 7% before eventually closing with 0.68% loss. The best performers of the day were Bishal Bazar Company Limited (BBC) and Progressive Finance Limited (PROFL) hitting 10% positive circuit while Mithila Laghubitta Bikas Bank Limited (MLBBL) was the biggest loser today. Sensitive and float index slightly went up by 3.91 points and 1.42 points respectively. Except Hotels and Others sectors, all sectors in NEPSE landed in green.
