Market continues bullish streak to exceed turnover above Rs 1 arba; NEPSE now testing 1540 levels

The benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) has increased by 12.26 points or 0.80% to close at 1.536.12 points today. The market opened at 1,523.86 points today and the local bourse was seen in upward trend. The market had gained up to 1,548.08 points after which it pulled back on a decreasing trend. However, it closed by eventually gaining 12.26 points. The total turnover of the day stood at Rs 1.05 arba in which more than 20.57 lakh units shares were traded with 8,169 transactions. This is the first time since August 3, 2017 when the total transaction amount exceeded Rs 1 arba. Charm in Hydropower sector seems to have increased as it accounted for second highest traded sector (Rs 23.23 crore) after Banking (Rs 31.96 crore). Butwal Power Company Limited (BPCL) topped the list of companies in terms of turnover (Rs 6.99 crore) while Sanima Mai Hydropower Limited (SHPC) was traded the most (1,18,709 units) today. The best performer for the day was Nagbeli Laghubitta Bikas Bank Ltd. (NBBL) whereas Himalayan Distillery Limited (HDL) was the biggest loser today. Sensitive and float index went up by 2.57 points and 0.94 points respectively. Except Manufacturing & Production sector, all the other nine trading groups landed in green at the end of the day. The sub-indices of Insurance sector increased the most i.e. 100.24 points followed by Hotels sector i.e. 51.39 points.
