Market closes negatively after hitting 4% positive circuit break; Index loses 6.59 points with turnover above Rs 2.52 arba

  The benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) dropped 6.59 points or 0.40% today to close at 1660.52 points. Today, NEPSE index opened at 1667.92 points andthe local bourse inclined by 4.04 percent positive circuit break in the second trading hour. Market resumed at 11:59 AM and was seen fluctuating—signaling equal pressures between both buyers and sellers. index 413,500 units shares of Siddhartha Equity Oriented Scheme (SEOS) and 316,644 unit shares of Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank Limited (NCCB) were traded the most today. 7 companies hit positive circuit break today. Top gainers list was dominated by insurance companies, although Nepal Life Insurance (NLIC) was one of the top losers. Sanima Bank (SANIMA), Guheshwori Merchant Banking and Finance (GMFIL) and Gurkhas Finance (GUFL) were also among the top gainers. Nepal Bank Limited (NBL) and Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank limited (NCCB) had the highest turnover of Rs 13.54 crore and Rs 13.43 crore respectively. The number of transactions of NBL and NCCB reached 434 and 616. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 2.52 arba where more than 55.54 lakh units shares were traded through 13,238 transactions. Sensitive and float index went down by 1.22 and 0.37 points respectively. Except trading and Insurance sectors, all trading groups landed in red.
