Low turnover in the stock market; Closes at 1,285.96 points gaining 4.06 points

The index at the stock market has shown a slight positive movement today with increase of 4.06 points to end at 1,285.96 points. The market had started at 1,281.9 points and faced ups and down but at the end of the day it ended gaining 4.06 points. The total turnover for the day was a low turnover of just Rs 18.45 crore with more than 6.23 lakh shares traded during the day. The day ended with 2,406 transactions being performed during the 4 hours trading period. 1 Nepal Life Insurance Company (NLIC) was the top scrip with the highest amount of turnover of Rs 1.05 crore today. Similarly, Janata Bank Nepal’s (JBNL) shares were the most traded shares today, as 39,029 shares were traded. 3 3 The shareholders of World Merchant Banking & Finance Limited (WMBF) earned the most today, as the price of the shares increased by 8 points to reach Rs 118 at the end of the day. Likewise, the LTP of Naya Nepal Laghubitta Bikas Bank (NNLB) stood at Rs 1,942. The shareholders of the microfinance lost 78 points in each share of the company. 4 5 Both the sensitive and float index increased by 0.96 points and 0.3 points respectively.

Among the sub-indices, only Hotels, Finance and Manufacturing & Production ended up in the red zone. Hotels lost 26 points which was followed by Manufacturing and Production losing 6.82 points. Insurance gained 29.21 points which was followed by 8.57 points.
