With only 6 days left in the current fiscal year 2078/79, the federal government has only been able to spend only 50.69% percent of the capital expenditure (CAPEX) budget. According to the Financial Comptroller General Office's (FCGO) daily receipts and payments status report, out of Rs. 3.78 Kharba of the entire capital allocation only Rs. 1.91 Kharba has been spent as of Monday.

With the fiscal year's end quickly approaching, the government has exceeded itself in its haste to spend budget money. It handed out a staggering Rs 14.72 Arba on Saturday despite the fact that it was the weekend, breaking the previous record for the most single-day capital expenditure.

Also, capital expenditures in the last fiscal year totaled 64.69% of the budgetary allotment.

Apart from capital expenditure, the FCGO has reported tax revenue of Rs. 9.32 Kharba and non-tax revenue of Rs. 75.2 Arba for the period ending till 27 Ashad. A total of Rs. 46.6 Arba in other receipts has been recorded.

Meanwhile, just 52.58% of Rs. 1.89 Kharba financing amount has been spent. The financing budget is used to repay the government's loan principal and interest, as well as to make investments.
