Kathmandu Metropolitan City to Conduct Scholarship Selection Test for Schools in Kathmandu for Grade XI Students

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) will be responsible for administering the scholarship selection test for schools within its jurisdiction for Grade XI students. Starting from the next financial year, the metropolis will conduct the examination for scholarships offered by private schools in the metropolis.

According to Mayor Balendra Shah, scholarships will be awarded based on merit and will prioritize students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, intelligent students from remote areas, and students belonging to tribal communities studying in public schools.

"As stated in the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Education Act 2075 and Education Regulations 2074, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City will conduct the examination for student selection for scholarships provided by private schools for Grade XI students under the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, starting from the academic session 2080/81," he stated.
