Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has issued a stern warning against the abandonment of construction materials on streets and pavements, emphasizing the imperative of maintaining cleanliness and unobstructed public movement in the urban landscape.

Underlining the necessity for prompt cleanup post-construction, KMC has urged all stakeholders to refrain from dispersing materials that impede both public mobility and the city's development management initiatives. Furthermore, KMC has highlighted the detrimental impact of scattered materials on ongoing beautification campaigns, signaling an unwavering commitment to address the issue decisively.

Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol has underscored the severity of the situation, affirming KMC's firm stance against individuals or entities responsible for such disorderliness.

Additionally, KMC has reiterated the legal obligations incumbent upon individuals and companies intending to undertake construction activities in public spaces or thoroughfares. The mandate necessitates obtaining prior authorization in accordance with the provisions outlined in the Local Government Operation Act, 2074, and the Environment Protection Act, 2076.
