Kathmandu District Court Orders Release of Businessman Shekhar Golchha

The Kathmandu District Court has declined the police request to extend the judicial custody of businessman Shekhar Golchha.
Golchha, who was arrested by police on April 27 in connection with investigations into securities and insurance-related offenses, had been in judicial custody since his arrest.
A single bench of Justice Mona Singh issued an order today stating that his detention cannot be extended further for investigative purposes. Following the court’s decision, Golchha is set to be released from custody.
