Joshi Hydropower Development Company(JOSHI) Limited has temporarily suspended electricity production at its Upper Puwa-1 Hydropower Project (3 MW) after heavy rainfall triggered floods, causing damage to multiple structures in the project’s headworks area. The company reported that continuous high water levels in the Puwa Khola have prevented a detailed assessment and valuation of the damage so far.
The company informed Nepal Stock Exchange as required under securities regulations, stating that both Upper Puwa-1 and related projects remain non-operational due to these uncontrollable circumstances.
Joshi Hydropower Development Company has assured stakeholders that restoration efforts will commence once the situation stabilizes and further information regarding the extent of damage will be shared in due course.
