ISPs launch attractive offers at CAN Info-Tech

Internet service providers (ISPs) have launched attractive schemes at the ongoing CAN Info-Tech 2015 to increase their subscribers base.

Leading ISPs like Subisu, Vianet, WorldLink, Classic Tech, WebSurfer and Nepal Telecom (NT), among others, have come up with special offers to attract customers. Subisu, the title sponsor of the event, is providing 10 GB data bonus with every package. It is also offering free Wi-Fi routers, 6 months validity of analogue TV subscription, fiber modem and TV receiver, waiving off installation charge depending on the package.

Subisu is providing Clear TV set top box free of cost with some package. Its packages start from Rs 12,999 and go as high as Rs 19,999 depending on the services and Internet speed.

Similarly, Vianet is doubling its data volume, and providing data for two months and wireless routers free of cost in all its packages. The package starts from Rs 5,999. The company gives unlimited Internet at 384 Kpbs. The monthly renewal charge starts from Rs 1,000 plus VAT depending on Internet speed.

Similarly, WebSurfer is providing Internet package at just Rs 495 per month targeting youth. “The package includes 8 GB data at 512 kbps per month. After completion of 8 GB, customers will get two options in the first month -- either 40 GB data free or cost or unlimited data at 192 Kbps,” said Pradhan.

Classic Tech has announced three different packages of Fibre To The home (FTTH) Internet service -- Rs 999 per month for 5 Mbps (30 GB data), Rs 1,999 per month for 15 Mbps (30 GB data) and Rs 4,999 per month for 100 Mbps (100 GB data). The company is waiving off installation charge on all the packages.

Likewise, WorldLink is doubling data volume and waiving off installation charge worth Rs 3,000 on annual subscription bought during the Info-Tech. Sunaina Shakya, sales and marketing officer of WorldLink, said customers will get ‘10 GB+10 GB’ data at speed of up to 100 Mbps under its ‘CANnot Believe Offer’.

State-owned Nepal Telecom is providing free 40 percent data bonus on every package and 15 percent discount on 12-month subscription of volume based WiMAX data plan.

Meanwhile, a total of 71,339 people visited CAN Info-Tech, which is being organized at Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall by Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) Federation, on the third day. With this, the number of people visiting the Info-Tech has reached 171,605, CAN Federation said in a statement.
