Independent Candidate Dr. Mahabir Pun Elected HoR Member from Myagdi

Mahabir Pun, former Minister for Education, Science and Technology, has been elected as a Member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from Myagdi.

According to the Office of the Chief Election Officer, Dr. Pun, who contested as an independent candidate, secured 28,850 votes to win the election.

Chief Election Officer Surya Bahadur Thapa said that Pun’s closest rival, Hari Krishna Shrestha of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist), received 7,919 votes.

Similarly, Karna Bahadur Bhandari of the Nepali Congress secured 6,884 votes, while Arjun Thapa of the Nepal Communist Party obtained 3,529 votes.

Out of 86,397 registered voters in the district, 46,215 votes were cast in the election held on Thursday for the House of Representatives seat.
