Himalayan General Insurance announces building design competition targeting young architects; prize money set at 1.5 lakh for the best designer

Himalayan General Insurance Limited (HGI) which is celebrating its 24th Anniversary has begun the construction of its privately owned corporate office at Babarmahal of Kathmandu. The insurance company has made announcement for the same to all the registered architects and architecture forms to take part in the design competition for the proposed corporate office. Issuing the press statement, the insurance company informed that all the architects and architecture forms registered with Nepal Engineering Council can participate in the design competition for which the best one will receive a cash prize of Rs. 1.5 lakh and Rs. 50 thousand each as 2 other consolation prizes. Furthermore, the best designer shall be included as the principle designer later for the detailed design and construction work of the corporate office, reads the statement. The architecture design competition that the insurance company has announced under its corporate social responsibility program intends to give proper limelight to young and dynamic architects of Nepal, states the press note.
