“Harsh actions should not be required in banking sector” says Dr. Chiranjeevi Nepal

Governor Dr Chiranjeevi Nepal said in a programme that the banks and bankers change their statements according to the time. The Nepalese economy has seen a lots of ups and downs in the money market in the recent period going from liquidity crisis to abundance of the investable funds.

In a progamme organized by Nepal Aarthik Patrakar Samaj, Dr Nepal said that the banks had denied the request of the Rastra Bank to take the fund when there was abundance of money. He further added that the same banks have been complaining that they have lack of fund and the interest rate has also been increased.

He also said that the bankers had also requested to collect the money when the investable funds were abundant. However, they have also started to complain about the lack of funds.

In the end he said that, ‘Banking sector has great human resources and harsh actions should not be required in such sector’.
