Hamro Bikas Bank reports 64% rise in net profit; EPS at Rs 28.13

Hamro Bikas Bank (HAMRO) has registered a net profit growth of 64.62% in the second quarter of the current FY 2073/74. According to the unaudited financial report published by the development bank yesterday, its net profit has increased to Rs. 2.15 crore in second quarter, up from Rs. 1.30 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. HAMRO’s net interest income has risen to Rs 4.14 crore in Q2 as compared to Rs. 2.48 crore in the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal year. As of Q2, it has a paid up capital of Rs 15.29 crore with a reserve of Rs 3.88 crore. The bank also collected deposits of Rs 1.17 arba in Q2, up from Rs 85.81 crore in the corresponding period last year. Likewise, it has extended loans and advances of Rs. 1.01 arba in Q2 whereas in the same period last year, the figure stood at Rs. 6.61crore. HAMRO’s annualized Earnings per Share (EPS) has increased by 31.69% to Rs 28.13 per share. It had distributed 25% stock dividend for the fiscal year 2072/73. It was under merger process with with Jyoti Bikas Bank and Jhimruk Bikas Bank, but it was cancelled. Its 8th AGM held on Poush 29, 2073 has endorsed a right share of 200%. After the issuance of right, its paid up capital will reach Rs 45.87 crore. Based on NRB's requirement for all 1-3 district-level development banks to hike their paid up capital to Rs 50 crore by the end of FY 2073/74, it will need to further increase its capital by just 9% against an EPS of Rs 28.13 per share.
