Government Introduces New Office Hours Effective Monday
The Government of Nepal has officially announced new office hours for government offices, public institutions, and academic institutions, effective from Monday.
The decision was made during a Cabinet meeting held on Sunday and has been formally published in the Nepal Gazette by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
According to the notice, offices will now operate from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm starting April 6. The government has also confirmed that Saturdays and Sundays will remain public holidays, continuing the existing weekend system.
The revised schedule will apply uniformly across government bodies, public institutions, and educational organizations.
Additionally, the government has introduced a seasonal adjustment to office hours. From Kartik 16 to Magh 15, office timings will be slightly reduced, operating from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
The move is expected to standardize working hours across institutions while also accommodating seasonal variations.
